Drawing upon upon an extended period of research, the book explores and contextualises this single work stereo pair, providing a contextual reader for the new permanent sound installation. The book includes a new essay ‘Spore’ by Will Self.

Illustrated throughout with photographs by the artist, working drawings and archive imagery, the book shines a light on the works modular production process of precast reinforced concrete and its relationship to the Brutalist architecture of Brunel University and the civil engineering projects such as Heathrow, and the M25 that encapsulate the campus.

One section begins with architectural photographer Henk Snoek’s images documenting the construction of the brutalist ‘Mathematics Building'(1966), followed by Stanley Kubrick and crew on location in the finished building filming of A Clockwork Orange, then we see stills from Coy’s film Grey Goo (2021) documenting the buildings destruction (2019) finally Coy adding aggregate retrieved from the demolition to works foundations.
